In addition to the Social Workers, Counsellors, Therapists, Psychologists and Psychiatrists that are available by making contact with Family Physicians, community health clinics, community service organizations, and local hospitals, families may find walk-in counselling services helpful. Patients and families that are in a position to pay a fee for service may also choose to hire the services of a local Clinical Social Worker, Counsellor, Psychologist, Registered Psychotherapist, or Therapist.

The Walk-In Counselling Clinic offers no-fee, single-session counselling services to individuals, couples and families on a first-come, first-served basis every Thursday from 1:00–8:00 p.m. (last session at 6:30 p.m.). Individual and group therapy is also available (fees may apply).

Mental health therapy services are available to area residents, aged 17 and up. These services aim to calm, relieve or remedy emotional and psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders and reactions to various traumatic events. Behavioral problems, relationship problems and problems related to adaptive difficulties and stress management are also addressed.
Mental health services are available at no cost, by appointment only.

We are committed to working in partnership with individuals, families and community resources to enhance the development and continued support of mental health for all citizens. Any individual, 16 years of age or older, living with a severe mental illness or concurrent disorder (mental illness combined with substance use disorder) can call for an appointment. A family support program is also available to provide individual and group support to family caregivers who are coping with issues associated with a loved one’s illness.
