Cornwall & District Family Support Group |
If your loved one suffers from a serious mental health issue, we’re here to help. We meet once a month to talk about the challenges of being a caregiver, in a safe setting where we know we won’t be judged. By sharing, we also learn how to cope more effectively with our loved one’s condition. We have recently added a monthly meeting in Alexandria. Family Support Program |
We are committed to working in partnership with individuals, families and community resources to enhance the development and continued support of mental health for all citizens. Any individual, 16 years of age or older, living with a severe mental illness or concurrent disorder (mental illness combined with substance use disorder) can call for an appointment. A family support program is also available to provide individual and group support to family caregivers who are coping with issues associated with a loved one’s illness. |

A course providing up-to-date information to better understand and support your mentally ill loved one. Learn about the signs and symptoms of mental illness, treatment options, strategies for living with mental illness, advocating for change and much more. The course is taught by trained volunteers who have experience dealing with a mentally-ill family member. |
